LogMate TiPSView V4.01 Released
TiPSView (LogMate web services component, including netView, ACE and TRAC) has been updated to version 4.01 which adds support for 32-bit versions of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Windows 7, and Internet Explorer 8. This milestone in the development of our full-featured alarm management software takes advantage of the latest .NET and Microsoft technologies to deliver an easy-to-use solution with superior features, unequaled speed and stability, and extremely low total cost of ownership.
Additional enhancements include:
- New Installation Program: The latest version of TiPSView includes a new installation program to provide a better software install and upgrade experience with the option not to reboot after a LogMate installation.
- Alarm KB Column Aliases: Alarm KB column aliases are now used throughout the application where the Alarm KB has been linked to a netView/ACE database improving searches or creating criteria.
- Read-Only Alarm KB Pop-Up Window: This improved security enhancement clearly displays read-only rights to users with read-only access to the netView Alarm KB pop-up window.
- ACE Table Trigger Update: Adding records to an ACE database is now faster with modified ACE population logic, increasing user efficiency. Existing process logic will automatically be replaced upon install of V4.01. The existing database-specific logic will automatically be backed up to allow for safe, manual process logic restoration if needed.
- ACE Table Population Clear Status: Usability is improved with a new "Clear" button added to the Database Population Status window for each database. This eliminates the need for users to enter SQL Server Management Studio to execute standard LogMate functionality.
LogMate Capture V7.00
LogMate Capture has been upgraded to version 7.00 which adds support for 32-bit versions of Windows Server 2008, Windows 2003 Server Windows 7, and Windows XP SP2 as well as SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2005. Capture is the LogMate module that collects event data from connected systems and processes it into a database.
Additional enhancements include:
- New Installation Program: The latest version of TiPSView includes a new installation program to provide a better software install and upgrade experience with the option not to reboot after a LogMate installation. Also removed the “CaptureMessage” and “SignalMessage” service from the installation. It is no longer needed for Windows 2008 or above.
- Enhanced Security: only local administrators can run Capture.exe, CaptureShutdown.exe, Signal.exe and SignalShutdown.exe on Windows 7 and Server 2008.
- Verify SQL Server "OLE Automation Procedures": for database maintenance settings prior to opening the DB Maintenance setup form.
- Advanced Configuration: Removed "Popup message on external shutdown" checkbox from Advanced Configuration.
- Form Tabs: Corrected tab order on forms: TCP/UDP, ASC, COM, EVT, SNMP, iFIX/Fix32 port configuration forms.
