EEMUA
The Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association
EEMUA is a leading Industry Association for users of engineering
equipment and materials. We are involved in identifying and
communicating good practices and influencing technical regulation
and standards development, particularly where they affect safety,
business costs and efficiency. EEMUA members include major oil, gas & petro-chemical companies, power
generation, utility & transmission companies, and process & construction
companies.
The EEMUA's 191 guidelines document, "Alarm Systems -
A Guide to Design, Management and Procurement", is the
foundation for most of the alarm management methodologies,
products, and technical services available today. TiPS own
LogMate AMS product was designed around the guidelines within
the EEMUA 191 guide.
The Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association (EEMUA)
was formed in 1983 from the amalgamation of the Oil Companies
Materials Association and the Engineering Equipment Users Association,
both of which dateback to 1950/51.
The EEMUA website contains a wealth of information regarding
the 191 guide, as well as other valuable topics. Click the

ASM®
Abnormal Situation Management® Consortium
The Abnormal Situation Management (ASM) Consortium is a long-running and active Honeywell-led research and development consortium of 11 companies and universities that are concerned about the negative effects of industrial plant incidents. It aims to identify problems facing industrial plant operations during abnormal conditions, and to develop solution concepts.
Deliverables include products and services, guideline and other documents, and information-sharing workshops; all incorporating ASM knowledge. Abnormal situations are managed by Prevention, Early Detection, and Mitigation, in order to reduce unplanned outages and process variability that are reducing profits and putting plant employees and local residents at risk.
