Free Rationalization Quality Assurance
Kit Helps Ensure You Get a Quality Result
When discussing the benefits of an alarm rationalization,
it's usually on a basis of performance gains such as reducing
alarms, improving operations, reducing waste, or increasing
safety. This type of benefit should be a focal point, since
improving your operation is the reason for the investment
in the first place. However, it is crucial to remember that
any performance gains will be relative to the quality of the
rationalization output.
Unfortunately, there is no standardized format or guideline
for the content of a rationalization, and the quality varies
widely. This "planning kit" will help you define
expectations for the quality of a rationalization and will
provide a framework from which to measure that quality.
The
kit includes a white paper and a spreadsheet that work in
tandem to help you understand the content of a rationalization
worksheet and to give you a basis for planning and reviewing
your project. The kit is a valuable resource, whether you
are pursuing rationalization internally or hiring an outside
service provider.
The kit is available at
www.tipsweb.com/rationalization.

So, TCO should be top on your list when considering software,
and many factors add up to influence it. What are some of
those factors?
